Long-eared Owls (Asio otus) tend to hide behind leaves and branches, so I was happy I could capture this beauty without disturbing details in front of her/ him. Before I had seen these owls I thought they were long and slim, because that's they way they're often captured. But I recently learned that that's the way they look when disturbed. The more roundish look you see here is their shape when they feel comfortable and safe.
I haven't the eye to so much as see these creatures, yet you capture them so beautifully! thnx for bringing me closer to (what in my experience is) the elusive.
"I dare you to take a picture of me"
But very adorable and fluffy, to bad he'd probably rip my face off.
