Yesterday I was biking around, like I often do, when I saw something moving in the grass.
So I jumped off my bike to check it out and I saw this baby Eurasian Jackdaw hopping around.
When I tried to approach it it flew away and landed on the wheel of my bike ;)
I thought this would make a nice image, but its parents absolutely didn't agree.
While I tried to make a decent picture the parents flew aggressively over my head, trying to scare me away.
I must admit they were quite convincing so I took a few shots and left the little one alone....

wow! I love this, interesting blue eye on a black bird=D Love the way it's perching too. I was once raising (imprinting) a european pekin duckling and i was swimming with it at a lake when a momma duck swam near with her babies. She must have thought I had stolen on of hers because she suddenly rammed into me 2 times. Those momma birds are some protective!

Reminds me of a time I was putting trash into a bin outside (which happened to be conveniently placed near a tree), and a curious common blackbird nestling poked his head out of the foliage to scream at me.

Dutiful parents dive-bombed me as a I lifted the bin lid to put the trash in, so I decided tomorrow would be a better time to take out the trash.

You're quite lucky you managed to snap a shot of this youngster and get away unscathed. ;)
