As you might know I'm more of an animal photographer than a scenery photographer. A few days ago I was actually on my way to a beautiful kingfisher spot when I saw this early morning scene... Usually I'm not too fond of the flat meadows.... But this sight showed me the beauty of my country and I spend 20 minutes just enjoying this magical view...
A beautiful shot, and I LOVE(!) the ironic title, although there are some lumps down by Maastricht. But they are lumps, not mountains. I definitely enjoyed visiting the Netherlands when I was touring in Belgium, and based in Antwerpen, nearly thirty years ago.
I emigrated from the Netherlands some time ago and I never appreciated the Dutch landscape as much as I do now that I so rarely see it. Mountains make me feel locked in, and hills seem like the ground is trying to interfere with the sky. This is a wonderful photograph that reminds me very strongly of the area I grew up.
beautifull picture!
