I'm gonna be honest here, I've looked through your other photos and in general they're all very crisp, detailed and yeah pretty. This one doesn't really hold anything to them - if you had asked me who took the picture I'd not have guessed it was you (ignoring the signature at the bottom). One thing it did do is draw my attention to your page and the rest of your very decent photos.
It'd be nice if for once, people that share an opinion like that say it, rather than just "yeah it's amazing <3". Positive feedback is good, but it's all I ever see on deviantart. Though you sound like you have a good measure, counting how popular it is ^^ so number of positive comments compared to your average usual gives you an idea relative to yourself
I agree.... It's the same old 'popularity breeds popularity' thing. Many faves and comments aren't always related to interestingness or quality unfortunately. I personally prefer looking at the image, not at who made it and how 'famous' this person might be...
Aye, fame can often be the best indicator though for people looking to see neat stuff to point out where there is potentially some better stuff. Without it, those that are actually producing something really amazing wouldn't get the views they deserve I suppose. Then again I guess the idea is it's about the viewers rather than the artist...though that line is so blurry it's ridiculous
I prefer critiquing objectively and then put a personal spin on it, when I'm actually critiquing, but if people just want to compliment things...there are worse things ^^
