We saw a film of Grizzly bears playing with jumping salmon they caught before tearing them apart. One of David Attenborough's films.
Nature is fascinating but not admirable.

I think that nature is the most admirable thing and even fitting your description. I mean Nature created life no nature no life and Nature is quite resisting to the oppression of human's valor.

"Pleasurable contemplation" va pour le monde naturel.

Je pensais au sens de respecter le mérite.
Je ne sais pas ce qui a du mérite.
La nature n'a pas de mérite et je ne suis pas sûr que les hommes peuvent en avoir.
Je crois qu'on fait ce qu'on peut faire à cause de nos gènes, de la culture et de l'environnement. On n'a pas de contrôle la-dessus.

J'aime le monde naturel mais pour moi il est... c'est tout. Il peut être très cruel. :)

génial je rencontre enfin quelqu'un qui a conscience que l'homme n'a aucun contrôle sur son destin car il est défini par ce qui a créer l'instinct depuis des millions d'années d'évolution.
D'habitude quand j'exprime cet idée tout le monde est genre:
"Ca c'est vrai pour les animaux par pour les hommes"
et moi ensuite: "Mais on est des animaux trouduc'"
et eux ensuite: "Tu penses donc t'es pas un animal"
moi:"Si ça s'arrêter à ça, je t'informe solennellement que tu es un animal"
et ainsi de suite enfin t'as compris j'imagine...

Ensuite pour la petite histoire je comprends bien de quoi tu parles mais personnellement c'est cette "cruauté" dont tu parles qui me rend admiratif car ce n'est pas vraiment de la cruauté car ça rempli une fonction primordiale et cette capacité à garder le sens des priorité dans et malgré l'adversité du jugement humain (dont d'ailleurs la nature se fout totalement)et pour la pérennité du vivant que le mode d'évolution stérile des humain pourrait mettre en danger.

Chez nous on pense tous à peu près comme ça. Mon mari pense qu'il y a une petite espace pour le libre arbitre mais mes enfants ( adultes) et moi-même, pensons qu'il n'y en a pas.
Nous sommes "programmés" par tant d'apports intérieurs et extérieurs que nous ne voyons pas que nous ne choisissons pas grand'chose.
L'évolution a aussi fait de nous des êtres très complexes.
La liberté est une illusion. Il faut vivre avec ça et faire comme on peut.

Je crois que l'idée que nous sommes autre chose que des animaux vient, en gros, de le religion et puis des philosophes comme Descartes qui ont parlé de la raison.
J'ai pensé pendant longtemps qu'on était différents des animaux mais avec l'âge ( j'ai 71 ans ) et étant devenue athée, j'ai changé d'avis.

Tous ceci ne veut pas dire qu'il ne faut pas se battre pour ce qu'on croit être pour le mieux, disons les droits de l'homme, parce qu'on peut être sûr au moins qu'on souffre parfois et d'autres souffrent aussi. Il faut essayer de les soulager.

Bon ça suffit! Je suis bavarde. :)

moi je pense que le fait que l'on différencie l'homme de l'animal vient justement du fait que nous sommes animaux, je pense que tous les animaux -ou une grande partie(je pense surtout aux prédateurs) - ont ce comportement auto-congratulateur.
Quand on y pense chaque espèce a ses raisons de se sentir supérieur aux autres il suffit de chercher un peu, le chat domestique par exemple est servi, nourri, caressé, chouchouté chaque jour, ça pourrait conduire à une impression de supériorité selon laquelle l'homme n'est là que pour le servir un petit peu comme on pense que le "bétails" n'est là que pour mourir dans le but de nous nourrir c'est très égocentrique mais c'est comme ça dans l'esprit de beaucoup de gens qui ne comprennent pas que c'est infiniment pire que l'esclavage tel qu'on l'envisage généralement tout en étant une forme d'esclavage.
