Yeah....I know: snails are definitely not insects, neither arachnids.
But I wouldn't define them as wild neither and I've never heard of domesticated snails.
I'm sure they're not birds or amphibian and putting them in misc. feels a little disrespectful. Hence.

In the wild, Achatinidae snails live around 5 to 7 years and Helix snails live about 2 to 3 years.
Most deaths are due to predators or parasites. In captivity, their lifespan is much longer, ranging from ten to fifteen years for most species. On occasions, snails have lived beyond this lifespan, up to 30 years or more.

12 hours later......

Really nice shot ! I like t he colours here. Good job :D Have I ever told you about Mickey ? Propably I haven't, because you wrote that you have never heard of domesticated snail xD Soo ... Once upon a time I used to have a snail. His name was Mickey, he was really pretty although he was just an ordinary roman snail ... ;) I was feeding and taking him for a walk. IHe lived in a big plastic bottle. It's a sad story because one day I forgot to unscrew the cap, and you know ... plastic bottle, summer, sun, midday etc. I think my little Mickey boiled there ... I was crying for next 4 days ! In the meantime I also had Minnie, Tutu and Feliks (they all escaped from my zoo). Ha ! I also had a spider - but he died too ... it seems that spiders don't really like bread xD
I was 5 then ... and it propably explains a lot ( if not everything ... xD )

Hey, it's propably the longest comment I have ever written ( the longest from those which are acutally about something else than the shot I'm supposed to comment ) :D

:lmao: I did something similar with 2 lizards I found in the wild. It was a hot & sunny day and I decided to build a beautiful glass house for them. Meanwhile they had to wait a while 'til the job was done and I put them in a waiting room ( a little plastic back).
Some hours later, just before the beautiful new living was finished I decided to check on them and....I found two dried lizards......
Tnx for the sad but funny story!
