Mid Air Love by thrumyeye Mid Air Love by thrumyeye
As some of you might remember, I started my photography with capturing insects.
Partly for financial reasons (I couldn't afford a big lens), but mostly because this microcosmos is so highly fascinating.
Past winter I finally saved enough money for a 300mm and a whole new world of bigger animals opened up for me.
I enjoyed this new world so much that I almost forgot about my former passion.
Almost.....since I will never stop loving these tiny crawling creatures. So as a tribute to my 'older friends' I decided to neglect all the enthusiastically whistling birds for one time and give all my attention to this couple of mating dragonflies.

I feel like they're playing tag or follow the leader or some other playground game.

I agree...I love the small world creature..they are more fascinating...and dragonflies are the most wonderful of insects to me..they are like fantasy world creatures...I can never take my eyes off of them when they are around me.....

Awesome pictures for moving dragonflies. I can keep them in focus like that.

Makes me think of this old "dirty" patch I had that had the quote "Fly United"

I've only caught these buggers just lighting on a weed but not doing aerial acrobatics! Definitely a WOW factor here. Great capture and DOF.

You know, someone should hide your 300 mm for a while. If that means we get more dragonflies in mid-air and similar awesome things ;)
