Buzzards a very very shy animals that see you long before you see them. And as soon as they notice a human, they're gone. A few days ago I was walking through a forest when I met this beautiful blonde buzzard... In stead of flying away, (s)he was really cooperative and even gave me a chance to make some nice portraits...
That's a really stunning buzzard too! Haha brilliant shot, we have a pair on our school field and I watch them avidly as birds of prey are a passion of mine. I'm flying my harris hawk this year but one day would love to work with a buzzard, my Father flew one and she was brilliant, died in 2011 at the grand age of 29!
must be from "across the pond" to be calling a hawk a buzzard, im not saying either term is more correct but just saying. i have had a chance not too long ago to work hand and hand with a couple of red tails and a few cooper's hawks. it was amazing! Great shot! brings back lots of good memories.
Pale blueish eyes seems to show a buzzard in its first year, birds of preys in their first year, especially in the fall, do not seem to realize the danger and it'is good time to take some great shots !
The background colour makes the picture wonderful despite the shadow on the bird (which I like too, especially as well because of the white on the bird !).
