Some time ago I went out to see if I could capture some winter scenes. In stead I found a dipper swimming around in a small channel. Some other photographers where taking pictures of this bird, too and one of them decided a low point of view would result in even more beautiful pictures. To put its shortly: the man got lower than the bird and I had to help him out of the channel.
He was all wet but still very optimistic, so he, his friends and I decided to take a long walk through the snow. The white environment was beautiful, we had lots of fun and as a bonus we found this -usually very shy- little grebe that allowed us to take a few shots....

> Isn't it freezing? Its feathers look all soaked... it makes my teeth chatter just looking at it It was very cold indeed. It's feathers aren't really soaked, since bird have some kind of water resistant feathers.
That aside, this is quite adorable, I love the reflection is so clear and how close you are to him. Great shot
Pretty bird, though to be honest, all the grey light coming off the water behind it bothers me a bit. Doesn't help it stand out from the background.
