This ducky had a deformed leg which made it very hard for him to climb in and out the ditches.
I found mom and her 11(!) ducklings while ten babies had crossed a road, but this one was still stuck in the water and didn't manage to get out. Mom was in huge doubt: protect her 10 healthy babies and leave the handicapped one alone, or save the poor child and put the others in danger...? Mum decided to encourage her crying child to try and try again and finally.......it got out of the ditch and he could join his siblings again....
In this photo you see him running for his life towards his brothers and sisters......
And...yeah.....I can tell it's not focused so greatly.....but it was such a beautiful moment....
