Past spring I was lucky enough to witness and capture a kingfisher mating.
No complains at all about that..
But from hearsay I understood that this mating thing is supposed to be preceded by a lovely ritual where the male offers a tasty fish to his wife-to-be...
And when she accepts.....the deal is done.
But 'my mating' just happened out of the blue. No kind gestures, no sweet seduction, just a few seconds of fun and it was over before I knew...
This time the opposite happened.....
The male offered a fish. The female accepted and that was it...
Animal behaviour comes in mysterious ways....;)
