really like this pic. Especially because the top one looks a lot like my own dog.. not so dominant maybe.. but the fur the eyes. really cool to see that my little wolfdogpuppy really does look like a wolf. Never saw the resemblens much.. But now i do :']

Yeah, they're playing. In submissive posture, the Alpha would usually have his lips curled only the slightest bit, with the submissive wolf licking his lips and having a sort of "smile" on its face. Like aldwarke, I would agree this is no submissive thing. I do agree it is nothing but play... But hey, I have studied wolves for 7 years now along with drawing, what would I know??? XD

I don't know if I would call this an example of submission or not. Two of my dogs neither of which is the dominant one of my pack play at this often. We call it mouth wrestling and they appear to be having great fun.

I think I prefer this one for the same reason. Some great behaviour here.

I would really like to use these for reference material, that is if it's okay with you. These are some of the finest wolf expressions I've come across.
