Watermarks are a pet peeve for me, but art theft is worse. At least yours is better than the standard deviant art one....

Not at all. It's out of the way and doesn't obstruct the whole deviation, unlike the default dA watermarks

Its there to protect your photos, even if it does bother people you shouldn't remove it. Your photos, your choice whether you want/need a watermark.

I think in most cases it actually adds a bit more professionalism to the pieces! Perhaps lighten it up a bit more, though?

if u google watermark removal? u'll find a TON of FREE uploads that sadly remove ANY watermark...i've seen a few in action. and obviously it didn't matter to idiots like that creature stole all those people's images including u'rs....GRRRRRR

Well...I understand that it isn't a 100% safe protection method, but at least it isn't that simple anymore. People have to do at least some effort to steal stuff....
My theory is that most thieves are lazy (if not they'd be working for their money)....so they will go out and look for easy prey

i've seen my work painted/drawn/re-worked digitally..........and sold. on several sites now. i've also? seen my own self portrait on a couple's site........somehow i became 'a white female living in S.Africa who needs a way back to the states'.........that one was interesting
