Foxes can be extremely shy and run of long before you even spotted them. But they're also very intelligent and...very curious....
So if you are very quiet they might come towards you to see what is is exactly you're doing in their territory...
And if they don't consider you as a threat...they sometimes might come really really close.....
And just when you get enthusiastic you make an unexpected movement and the fox will disappear as quickly as he came...;)
